Character Summary: Detective Grimoire is known to be a reliable detective in his jurisdiction, and gets trusted with many cases. However, despite his ability to complete cases effectively, he has been put down by others as being some form of incompetent. He takes his job seriously, and does his best to be thorough. However, what he often believes to be average cases, he often ends up finding they dabble in the supernatural to varying extents, from finding mythical creatures to communicating with ghosts. He tends to find these experiences unsettling and tries to take them with a grain of salt, even with the proof presented. However, he never denies these occurences, but simply seeks all sources of information before declaring that the supernatural must be the answer. His series starts with a murder on a fairground, the second revolves around a monster from a kids television series having murdered the owner of a very remote theme park, and finally with a murder of a girl in Tangle Tower. All of these have dealt with the supernatural in some way, and increasing in each case.

Grimoire appears to have a sense of gullibility about him. He takes things at face value for the most part, and may take being teased seriously. He tries to be witty at times, but it rarely seems to come acrost the way he intends, his humour being wasted. He's very thoughtful when it comes to the bigger picture, and will piece things together slowly. He struggles with puzzles, and can easily admit when he doesn't understand something. He's willing to seek information that will lead to solutions and return to problems later. He usually speaks his mind freely, often displaying his discomfort openly.

AU Name: Daryl Walsh
Age: 28.

AU History: Daryl grew up in an average home, the middle child of three. While he wasn't necessarily neglected, he still felt that he had to get some of the same attention as his other siblings. Both of his parents worked hard to provide for their family. Daryl's first fascination was with animals, and he initially wanted to be a vet, taking care of the stray animals in the neighbourhood as best as a child could, and the kind of kid who would bring every animal home to keep it as a pet.

He worked his first job in a pet store while still in high school, and took pride in learning how to take care of animals and helping others do the same. Even to this day, he finds himself volunteering at pet shelters, and with a willingness to make sure animals are paired with good forever homes.

However, as he got older, he found a fascination with mystery novels and cold cases that run even into the present day. He found a second desire to become a detective, but hesitated on becoming a police officer in order to reach that goal. When he found out he didn't have to be licensed to become a private investigator in his state, he decided that was the best course of action to follow that dream. He's still trying to get customers but has very little success. Because of his lack of customers, he does amateur private investigations on the side, mostly for his own curiosities rather than other peoples' needs. But he does hope to make a name for himself someday.

Hearing about the Dreamer Phenomenon, he has his own suspicions about it. As such, he's moved to the area to do his own investigation into the matter. Despite the evidence already present, he's still at least mildly skeptical that it's anything more than smoke and mirrors, and desires to reach his own conclusions. Maybe this could finally be his big break into being a Private Investigator.

AU Personality:He has a huge soft spot for animals, and may try to hide it, but it's always clearly written on his face when he wants to interact with an animal.

Has a bit of a clueless air about him, and is easily spacey, lost in his own thoughts most of the time and being snapped out of his reverie when others interact with him.

His ultimate dream is to run a pet cafe where people can adopt animals to their forever homes, and simultaneously offer his services as a private investigator in the same cafe.
